Simon Jordan insists Arsenal should hand Mesut Ozil a pay-off to cancel his contract.
The Gunners playmaker accused the Gunners of a lack of loyalty after being left out of Mikel Arteta’s 25-man Premier League squad this week.
Ozil has not played for the Gunners since March, despite being on a £350,000-a-week deal, which runs until next summer.
talkSPORT host Jordan believes it would be best for both parties to part ways with Ozil now.
He said: “I don’t understand why Arsenal wouldn’t just pay this player up and release him from the roster because he’s clearly not part of anyone’s plans.
“He really wasn’t part of Unai Emery’s plans, he isn’t part of Arteta’s plans, clearly, more definitively than ever spelt out before.
“He wasn’t really part of [Arsene] Wenger’s plans, who was the major culprit that probably orchestrated him getting this contract [in January 2018].
“So it doesn’t make sense to me, as a former owner, watching a player that clearly isn’t part of the plans of any of these managers.
“I would be sitting there saying, ‘okay, the sensible thing to do is to pay this player up, maybe get a discount for paying him early, move him out the door and let him go somewhere else to play’.
“I don’t understand why that’s not happening because you’re going to pay this player the money anyway, so it cannot be that Arsenal don’t have the ability to bring forward £15m or £16m and say, ‘go.’”
Ozil is adamant he will not leave Arsenal until the end of his contract.
And Jordan has compared the 32-year-old’s situation at the Emirates to a marriage break-up.
He added: “The player gets paid £350,000-a-week for a club he signed for because they paid him the money he wanted.

“To start to trot out the nature of loyalty and start to blur the lines is Mesut Ozil playing his best card forward.
“Let’s not buy into it. Let’s look at it objectively and say, it’s a straight forward decision – Arsenal don’t want you anymore.
